Open Studios was a success! Thank you to everyone who came. Remember, the gallery is open Mondays from 5pm to 8pm, Thursdays 3pm to 7pm and Saturdays 3pm to 7pm. Our next event is at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, November 12th at 3pm. A reception for the art of the disenfranchised. A unique take on the world around us and San Francisco in particular.
I've applied for a grant studio. I'm not sure what I'm doing when it comes to the application but I tried. I also put in a submission for the up coming show at Arc Gallery, Resolutions. I find out December 7th weather or not they liked my submission. Until then the show continues at the courthouse and my photography remains on display at the 6th on 7th Gallery. I'm also working on meeting with the curator of the newest low income gallery Space 236, located in the Tenderloin here in San Francisco. I'll let you know as soon as my spot is assured.
I'm continuing to work on my tarot deck, even redoing some of the cards I was not as happy with. I'm hoping to have the completed art work out soon. When I do pre-orders will be taken. I had forgotten what an undertaking the deck can be. I want the deck to be beautiful and meaningful, relevant and unique. Even amongst my own work. But it is difficult, having lost the momentum I had going before my fall art shows.
My next large project will be working with my photography. I will be collaborating with three other wonderful artists that I have come to know. A look at a possibly distopian future to our society, and the ramifications of our actions today.
For now, I say toodles and will write at you later.
